Comemerative Plaque

posted in: Intarsia, Pyrography | 0

Here is a little commemorative plaque made for a lady in Yorkshire. It is a combination project involving fretwork (kind of intarsia) and pyrography. It is 8″ x 6″ and approx 0.75″ thick finished with three coats of Yacht varnish as it will be going outside.

The text was done with my laser burner as it provides more consistency than I can do by hand. The feather was shaped using a Dremel multi-tool.

The main body is Oak and the feather is Lime.
